"The Network" is a partnership effort between parents and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to address the unique local and regional training, recruitment, and retention needs of the Department of Community Based Services resource (foster/adoptive) parents. Regional teams provide the following: Confidential, peer crisis support Trainings and information about a variety of topics Recruitment of new resource parents and of families for children who have had parental rights terminated and are seeking their forever families.
| Network team resource parent members have been foster and/or adoptive parents with DCBS for a minimum of three years. Parent members are required to become certified in Psychological First Aid in order to provide quality crisis intervention when called upon to do so. Parent members dedicate a minimum of 25 hours per month to the Network which includes attending a monthly two hour team meeting, attending various state wide trainings, leading and facilitating trainings, making regular contact with all foster families within the region, participating in the recruitment of new resource parents, and any other activities that the team decides upon.
